UCLA running back considering Iowa?

These links are from my good friend, The Wiz of Odds.

The running back transfer possibility might be Aundre Dean.

The Los Angeles Daily News’ Brian Dohn lists TCU, Texas A&M, Baylor and Iowa as possible destinations for Dean, who was slowed by an ankle injury last season and finished with just 22 yards on 10 carries as a true freshman. Dean committed to Texas A&M before he signed with the Bruins.

The LA Times’ Chris Foster has a more detailed story that doesn’t list Iowa as a possible destination. Dean’s mom, Jennifer, said the family has a list of 14 schools. It sounds like priority will go to schools closer to Houston, the family’s hometown.

Scout.com had Dean ranked as the No. 6 RB when he came out of Katy High School. All the biggies offered.

  1. that rumor I heard Marc is actually a running back from the Big XII, not sure who that would be but I haven’t heard of anyone being unhappy and leaving…

  2. That would make more sense, Duane.

I don’t remember Iowa recruiting this guy.

  3. Off Topic:

Is Shane Prater leaving the program? I heard rumblings that a wide receiver is on the way out. Any inside info that you have heard?

  4. Bill, I’ve got nothing confirmed on that. That’d be three guys gone from that class — Staten, Paine and Shane Prater? I guess Staten was a year older.

    I’m checking it.

  5. Sounds like possible academic issues.
