Wow. Now that’s a beat down, Melville references and all.
I’m anxious to see the contract terms he gets at Auburn. I assume it’s going to be more than he was getting at ISU, if only because it’s a premiere SEC program. If that’s the case, kudos to Chizik. The odds of me being horrendous at my job and getting a promotion with higher pay is pretty slim. As Sinatra used to say, “Nice work if you can get it.”

That guy is a serious dweeb. Quite frankly I think it’s hysterical Gene left ISU high and dry.
They need to realize they’re a second rate program and will never be more than that no matter who coaches them.
Why would anyone want to hang out in Ames? Dude goes 5-19, gets a better offer and jumps ship that quickly? That tells you a lot about ISU athletics.
My thinking is Pollard needs to go, he’s a used car salesman if there ever was one.
Happy Holidays ISU fans.

Have to agree with EP on this one. Paul Clark is the same guy who advocated the ISU coaching staff go after Mike Klinkenborg in 2006 Iowa/ISU game – that’s right, the same Mike Klinkenborg whos father had died a week earlier, and his rational was that Klink’s head wouldn’t be in the game.
Going into this season, he was telling anyone who who would listen that ISU was on the way up while Iowa was on the way down, mainly due to Iowa’s off the field problems.
If Paul was never a fan of Chizik, he should have said so from day 1. Venting all his personal frustrations after the fact doesn’t make him look like anything but a spoiled baby. There are some good points in his article, but it’s hard to see them through the sparks on the axe he’s grinding.

Gary Barnett had the decency to build the Northwestern program before he pledged to stay and left a week later….

So Tommy Tuberville has the same agent as Houston Nutt and that same agent is also Chizik’s agent?
Merry Christmas for the agent.
I hadn’t read that, Doug. I don’t know what to say about that. I really like Klink. Went out to his house and did a feature. Great Iowa family.
I remember that one, Marc. That might’ve been the breaking point for me. Coaches are weird and rich and always want to get their way.
Chizik said last week that he’s home. Look at his resume. He doesn’t know what the word means.
