Stat game . . .

Here are some interesting numbers on where Iowa ranks statistically in the Big Ten and nationally:

— The Hawkeyes are 75th nationally and 6th in the Big Ten in passing, 201.67 yards a game.

— Iowa is 33rd nationally and fifth in the Big Ten in scoring offense, 35.0 points a game.

— Iowa is 46th nationally and sixth in the Big Ten in total offense, 404.33 yards a game.

— Iowa is 26th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten in total defense, 254.33 yards a game.

— Iowa is No. 1 in the nation and No. 1 in the Big Ten in scoring defense, allowing just 2.67 points a game.

— Iowa  leads the Big Ten in punt returns (thanks to Andy Brodell’s 81-yarder yesterday) with 17.67.

— Iowa is 22nd in the nation and second in the Big Ten in turnover margin.

— Iowa is 22nd nationally and fourth in the Big Ten in both sacks and sackes allowd.
